Topic
Coalition governments are the norm in many countries, even though voters can only
cast their vote for an individual party, not a specific coalition. If voters have
preferences for particular combinations of parties, they might very well cast their
vote in a way that maximizes the probability that a preferred coalition will be formed
after the election. A surprisingly small amount of research has addressed this question.
This workshop helps to fill this gap by bringing together an international group of
researchers that will address the topic of voting and coalition governments from
different perspectives and for different countries.
