Jürgen Eichberger was born in 1952. He received his academic education
as an economist at the University of Mannheim where he completed his
Ph.D. in 1983. After a year as visiting Assistant Professor at the
University of Western Ontario, he took up the position of a Lecturer
at the Australian National University in Canberra in 1985. In 1990
Professor Eichberger was appointed Senior Lecturer at the University
of Melbourne. He returned to Germany in 1995 to take up the position
of a full professor at the University of Saarland in Saarbrücken.
Since 2000 he is professor at the Alfred Weber-Institute of the
University of Heidelberg. Professor Eichberger serves on the
editorial boards of the German Economic Review and Theory and Decision.
His current research interests are in game and decision theory and
financial economics.
