Siegfried Berninghaus is a member of the Economics Department at the
University of Karlsruhe. Since 1994 he is head of the Institute of
Statistics and Mathematical Economics. He was born in 1946 in the city
of Wuppertal, and studied Economics at Bonn University. In 1975 he
received his doctor degree at this university. His habilitation
thesis, written in 1982 at Konstanz University, covered the problem of
persistence of price dispersions in economies with incompletely
informed agents.
From 1987 to 1994 he was a professor in the Department of Economics of the University of Mannheim. He was a member of the SFBs at the Universities of Bonn and Konstanz. His research interest include game theory, decision making under uncertainty and experimental economics.
